HRF-Banting Clinical Trial Innovation Discovery Award
The HRF has partnered with the Banting Discovery Foundation to support innovation in the delivery of clinical trials across Canada.
Through the HRF–Banting Clinical Trial Innovation Discovery Award, the HRF will support early-career researchers developing practical, scalable solutions that improve the efficiency, quality, and accessibility of clinical trials.
About the award
The award supports early-stage research, pilot, and feasibility projects that address real-world challenges in clinical trial delivery, with a focus on reducing administrative burden, strengthening research team capacity, improving workflows, and exploring innovative approaches to modernizing clinical research.
Areas of focus include:
- AI and digital tools to improve clinical trial operations and workflows
- Innovations in trial documentation, data collection, management, and reporting
- Approaches to streamline trial coordination and reduce administrative burden
- New methods to improve participant recruitment, engagement, retention, and accessibility
- Practical solutions to strengthen clinical trial delivery in healthcare and research settings
The award is intended to support promising innovations with the potential for broader implementation, future scale-up, or additional research funding.
Funding and program information
The award provides up to $30,000 over one year and is offered through the Banting Discovery Award Program.
